The cobbled streets of historic Butlers Wharf lie in the shadows of the iconic Tower Bridge and are home to the Butlers Wharf Chop House. The character of the restaurant is reminiscent of a cricket pavilion or boathouse, boasting a long terrace that has unrivalled views of the river and city beyond.

The menu consists of typically hearty dishes that explore classic and nostalgic recipes from around the British Isles.

The Diamond Jubilee

The Diamond Jubilee will celebrate 60 years of the Queen’s reign. At high tide on the afternoon of Sunday 3 June 2012, the world’s eyes will be on the river Thames as Her Majesty the Queen leads the Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant. It will be one of the largest flotillas ever assembled on the river. Her Majesty will take the Royal Salute at Tower Bridge to celebrate her 60-year reign.

The celebrations will start as an Avenue of Sail assembles by Tower Bridge made by traditional Thames sailing boats, naval vessels, oyster smacks and other ships, giving another reason to dine at one of the restaurants on the wharf.

Rings on the bridge

Tower Bridge will be at the heart of the 2012 celebrations, as a temporary installation of giant Olympic Rings and the Paralympics Agates are installed during the Games.

Lighting of the bridge

A stunning light display will play out each evening during the Games which will see the bridge’s gothic turrets, aerial walkway and suspension chains bathed in colour from energy-efficient lights.

Arrive by water to the venues

Butlers Wharf pier is situated directly outside the restaurants, offering the perfect way to avoid the traffic and arrive in style. Our events management team can co-ordinate a privately chartered boat to dock at the pier with a drinks and canapé reception on board.

Hosting an event

Holding an event, whether it’s a corporate dinner, client entertaining or family celebration at Butlers Wharf Chop House is always met with great food, service and, of course, the views! We have semi-private areas that can cater for 14 to 60 guests. Or you can exclusively hire the restaurant for up to 150 seated or 300 standing. We can cater for breakfast meetings, lunch and dinner group reservations and Head Chef Martin Kroon will give your guests a lasting impression of your meal; perhaps Champagne served on arrival or port to conclude your meal? From Monday 23 July until Sunday 12 August 2012 Butlers Wharf Chop House will be opening the below hours, for all-day dining:

Restaurant: 11am until 11.30pm

Bar: 8am until 11.30pm
